There is a loud alarm that goes off next to the patients head. The caregiver needs to take the clip off of the patient and reattach it to the device to turn off the alarm. There are better options if your goal is to be alerted when someone is getting up.

Due to the simplicity of the design the patient is able to simply unclip the string from themselves which will not alert the caregiver when the patient is getting up.

If your goal is to know when someone is getting up to help prevent falls and wandering, we have better options for you. Our wireless chair pad and floor mat sensors would be an easier solution for a caregiver to use. They automatically alert the caregiver when someone is standing up to 300 feet away from the patient. There are also vibrate options.
